Treppen + Treppenhauser

Its red covered with a simple combination of trapezium shapes illustration. Treppen + Treppenhauser (stairs and staircases) by Konrad Gatz / Fritz Hierl. Printed in Germany 1954. The book is filled with photographs of stairs and staircases. Period.
We were told to choose a book from the library and map it. Since I followed someone around the building involving a lot going up and down stairs I decided to choose this particular book.

Lost

The first week we were told to research on Chelsea College of art and design campus by following some stranger around the building. To be honest it was freaky; I don’t want to be a stalker.
I decided to not tell the person I follow I want to observe their moves and figuring out what are they doing in the college.

I found this person on the lower ground floor going up the stairs to the second floor. It seems like he was looking for someone because she was standing in front of a particular door and looking around the hall. Not finding the person she was looking for, she went down to the first floor where she went into the loo. It seems to me that she was feeling uneasy and that she realize I was observing her. Weirdly she was opening small project spaces in the fine art department. She went down the stairs and went for the bridge to c block. In the end she seem to speed her steps and I lost her.

This particular project is a group project where the wires show the journey of the person we all followed and the tall stack foam-board shows the floor level.

These are some picture of the spaces she went.

Heathrow Airport

I forgot to tell you about this but it was my first time in my life to almost stay a night in an airport. It was quite fun. No. I'm lying. No its not fun. It was terrifying. The endless wait of uncertainty, growling stomach of emptiness, and dry skin cause of the cold snow breeze isn't a pleasant feeling; especially it was greeted before with an excitement to be back home soon. Luckily I was going home with a friend and there was two of us. At least we have each others company. Hopefully this year I wouldn't have to wait for 24 hours extra to go back home.

grouppose

My induction project is about mapping. The second day we were put into groups of four and to choose a group position randomly. It was exciting and odd at the same time. The group gets me to know new people and we all had fun.

These photos represent how our poses fits into the space we are at. Four of us stand to form a square shape looking out with our eyes closed by our hands. It was interesting to sense the space around us without looking.

We also made a 3d map showing our 'stops' around the campus.

first year

So here I am back in the UK starting my first year BA (hons) Interior and Spatial design in Chelsea College of art and design. Apologize for my long term posting absent I had to much fun spending summer at home, anyways I’ll get to that soon.

During the foundation course we have one project at a time but now, we have few going on in the same time. However somehow the course seems more organize and it insists me to be able to manage my time.
My course looks something like this...

talk to you soon

 Have a great weekend
