Visual Visual Visual

I was glad to move on to Visual Communication rotation. On the first day it was generating ideas! So we were given one word and from that word we are all suppose to explore as much as we can by drawing. I got the word 'ear'.
After lunch we were all paired up and we are suppose to create one easy piece by combining our words together. Surprisingly my parner is Hannah! It feels so weird to call your own name. And her word is 'batch'. I had a good day and I really enjoyed it because today's class was loose and creative.

We were told to collect 13 images. And from that 13 image we have to create a drawing. The drawing is how we represent a narative in 2d form. Learnt that a drawing doesn't mean a piece of pencil on paper. It could be anything, by using the images we have, manipulated, reinvent through drawing, tracing, printing, scanning, photography, cutting, layering, editing (taking things away), repeating, concealing, croping, copying, superimposing, juxtaposing etc...

This is what I did...

I really like this one in particular

This one is powerful as well

'Consider the visual drama that change of view point, extreme close up to a birds eye view.'

'think about composition and framing'

'keep it simple short'

these are the wisdom words of our vis-com tutors!

and here are some other people's work...

really like the simple pencil drawings

this piece is very tiny. The artist layer a lot of images together to create this image of London.

Nice compositions and use of colour

I like this one because of her presentation but also her photographs on the left part of the piece.
Check out Yasmin's blog!

Strong and powerful. She create the image by having loose expressive brush strokes on the background.

Unique image.

Layering printed acetate

Loved this illustration. Check out Saskia's blog.

The title of this piece is 'more information please' She edit and cover some of the information in this magazine spread. I think a very smart way to communicate using images.
